On Thursday evening, February 18 there will be a gathering to celebrate and also to evaluate our coalition and to plan for the coming PN ee eee years. The evening is co-sponsored by the Cornell Industrial Labor Relations Extension: we will hear short talks by Jim Morrissette, past chair of the coalition and a member of the Cornell U. Security Employees Union and Ed Ritchie, business agent for the Painters' local. Beer, ; wine, and snacks will be provided and we will have a short meeting and informal discussion afterwards. This is your chance to give imput into the coalition agenda and to meet officers and members of other area unions. If you are unable to attend please delegate someone from your local. Even if you are coming, encourage other interested members to join you. A major coalition project - the plant closings bill - is still very much opposed by Ithaca business people. We are determined to see this legislation passed by the summer. At our January meeting we agreed to fund a pilot issue of a labor newspaper. The committee projects it to appear in early spring. Let's talk about what else we can work on together! In Solidarity, A Movatepe Tins ) cy OX for the Steering Committee P.S. TUESDAY FEBRUARY 18, 7PM - Cornell ILR Conference Center (Garden & Tower).
