TOMPKINS CORTLAND LABOR COALITION 701 W. State St. ITHACA December 17, 1985 Dear Brothers and Sisters, In 1986 we will begin our third year in the labor coalition. We have had some success: two good Labor Day get-togethers, plant closings legislation still very much on the Ithaca Common Council agenda, solidarity with local struggles. We are still trying to pull the labor coalition into a strong cohesive organization. We have not had imput from many of you in the last six months. After two years of hard work our chair, Jim Morrissette, has recently resigned, Yet the need for a coalition of working people is as urgent as ever: This is a special invitation to attend our general meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 7:30 p.m. at the Plumbers & Pipefitters Hall at 701 W. State St. Our small steering committee is ready to present a modest plan to revitalize and strengthen the coalition. Your ideas are needed to help round out the year's program. Our thoughts to date include a special meeting with local presidents and business agents, labor coalition discussions at local membership meetings, passing of the plant closings legislation, and a periodic labor newspaper. In Solidarity, Skye Milliman Secretary P.S. Please mark your calendar...January 21,
