RESOLUTIONS PASSED IN SUPPORT OF CSEA AND ITHACARE WORKERS

The Labor Goalition passed two resolutions in March. One is to oppose
the county's plan to move the Department of Social Service out to
West hill. This move is opposed by the social service workers (CSEA 855)
for reasons outlined in the enclosed flyer. CSEA has also brought to
light the fact that the county intends to use public works employees
and CSEA members to do the renovation work on the old hospital building.
This is opposed by the local building trades workers. CSEA is asking
for impact negotiations with the county if the move does do through.

The second resolution was in support of the organizing drive by
the UAW at Ithacare. Shortly after, the regional labor relations board
ruled in favor of immediate elections despite management's attempt to
stall them for 3 years! An election victory similar to the Ramada vote
is hoped for.
